Three Off-Broadway shows posted closing notices this week: A Mother, A Daughter, and A Gun, Captain Louie, and The Musical of Musicals — The Musical!

A Mother, A Daugher, and A Gun, a dark comedy by Barra Grant, will shutter at Dodger Stages on Sunday, November 20 after just 19 previews and 23 regular performances. The show, which stars Olympia Dukakis and Veanne Cox, received primarily negative reviews.

The children’s musical Captain Louie will close at the Little Shubert on Sunday, November 13, having played only six previews and 16 performances. Written by Stephen Schwartz and Anthony Stein, the show had a successful engagement earlier this year at the much-smaller York Theatre.

The Musical of Musicals was also first presented at the York, where it ran for more than 250 performances. The production opened at Dodger Stages on February 10; at the time of its closing there, it will have logged in 9 previews and 318 regular performances. The show was recently seen in Laguna Beach, California, and Philadelphia, and will be produced at the San Francisco Playhouse next summer.
