Davidson, Fricker, Goodman, Mudge Head Cast of Geffen’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Jeremy Davidson, Brenda Fricker, John Goodman, and Jennifer Mudge head the cast of the Geffen Playhouse production of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, to be presented November 8-December 18. Directed by Gilbert Cates, the production will mark the reopening of the Geffen theater in Westwood following an 18-month renovation.

In addition to Davidson (Brick), Fricker (Big Mama), Goodman (Big Daddy), and Mudge (Maggie), the cast includes Matthew Glave (Gooper), Kirsten Potter (Mae), Zoe Photenhauer (Dixie), Sonya Eddy (Sookey), William Dennis Hunt (Reverend Tooker), Gibby Brand (Doctor Baugh), Amanda Sue Walker (Trixie), Aiden Lafraniere (Polly), and Rick Chaz Salazar (Sonny). The design team consists of John Arnone (scenery), Robert Blackman (costumes), Daniel Ionazzi (lighting), and Robert Blackman (sound).

Davidson previously played Brick in the Kennedy Center production of Cat. Fricker won an Academy Award for her performance in My Left Foot. Goodman received seven Emmy nominations for his role on the TV series Roseanne; his stage credits include Loose Ends, Big River, and The Seagull. Mudge recently earned high praise for her work in The Pavilion Off-Broadway and was previously seen in the Neil Simon play Rose’s Dilemma. Director Cates’ credits include the films I Never Sang For My Father and Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams.
