Broadway Meets Country Concert to Feature Campbell, Goldsberry, Menzel, Vereen, Yearwood, et al.

Broadway Meets Country, a benefit concert featuring top stars from both genres of music, will take place at 11pm on Saturday, November 12 in the Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center in the Time Warner Center.

Brian Stokes Mitchell and Lee Ann Womack will co-host the concert, in which theater stars will sing some of country music’s biggest hits while country performers will tackle popular show tunes. Among the performers set to participate are Jason Danieley, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Marin Mazzie, Andrea McArdle, Idina Menzel, Donna Murphy, James Naughton, Marian Seldes, Ben Vereen, Patrick Wilson, Trace Adkins, Glen Campbell, Billy Currington, Raul Malo, Richie McDonald, Jamie O’Neal, Julie Roberts, American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, and Trisha Yearwood. The event’s musical director will be Stephen Oremus.

The 75-minute concert is part of “Country Takes New York City,” a week-long series coinciding with the 39th annual Country Music Awards, to be held at Madison Square Garden on November 15. Tickets for Broadway Meets Country are priced at $350 for the concert only, $1,000 for the concert and a pre-show cocktail reception with the cast.

Proceeds from the event, a presentation of the League of American Theatres and Producers Inc. and the Country Music Association, will benefit The Actors’ Fund of America and the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. For tickets and/or further information, please call 212-869-4535.
