Josefina Baez’ Dominicanish Part of Harlem Stage’s Fall Season

Harlem Stage has announced its fall lineup of theater, music, dance and film programming.

Josefina Baez’ Dominicanish (November 6-8), which explores the Dominican experience in America, will be the center’s theater offering. Playwright Baez will appear in the piece that will be directed by Claudio Mir and will feature trumpeter Ross Huff.

Before Dominicanish, the center will present Visible/Invisible: Naked City (October 29), a dance piece which revisits the Great Migration, created by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar of Urban Bush Women and Nora Chipaumire. Among the other fall events at Harlem Stage: the film La Onda Chicana/The Chicano Wave (September 9), which traces the evolution of Chicano music through popular performers; Promised Land (November 4), a documentary about the re-building of post-apartheid South Africa; and musical performances from Yosvany Terry and Marta Mareno Vega, Tamar-kali, and Dana Leong.
