Claire Danes, Stephen Daldry, Liam Mower, Bebe Neuwirth, et al. Set for P.S. 122 Benefit May 27

Performance Space 122’s spring benefit, entitled Real Dancing with the Real Stars, will be held at The Abrons Arts Center on May 27, beginning at 6 pm. Isaac Mizrahi and Richard Move (channeling Martha Graham) will host.

The event will honor choreographer Ishmael Houston-Jones and performance critic C. Carr. There will be live performances by Philippe Petit, Bill T. Jones’ Fela!, Liam Mower from Billy Elliot (the star of the original London production), Elizabeth Streb, Yvonne Meier, Regina Roche, and Adrienne Truscott. Justin Bond, Bebe Neuwirth, and Stephen Daldry will be part of the “Judges Panel,” offering commentary for this non-competitive celebration.

In addition, there will be presentations by Claire Danes, DANCENOISE, and Martha Wilson; as well as video by Charles Atlas. There will be a pre-show cocktail party “decorated” by a performance installation by Butoh Rockettes and a post-show Party with DJs Andrew Andrew that is scheduled to go ’til 1:00am.
