Michael Urie, Vanessa Williams to Co-Host Drama League Awards Luncheon

Vanessa Williams and Michael Urie will co-host the Drama League’s 76th Annual Awards Ceremony and Luncheon, which, as previously announced, will be held on Friday, May 21 in the Grand Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. The nominations for the awards will be announced on Tuesday April 20.

At the luncheon, the Drama League pays tribute to 60-70 of the season’s best performers, chosen from both Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, who are nominated for The Distinguished Performance Award. In addition to this award, The Drama League’s bestows four other annual competitive awards: Distinguished Production of a Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, and Distinguished Revival of a Musical.

Williams received a Tony nomination for her performance in the revival of Into the Woods, and has also starred on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman. She begins performances on March 19 in Sondheim on Sondheim.

Urie is currently starring in The Temperamentals Off-Broadway. Both he and Williams co-star in ABC’s Ugly Betty.
