Ted Chapin, Stephen Sondheim to Appear at Out of My Dreams Screening at Paley Center

Stephen Sondheim and Ted Chapin will discuss the legacy of Oscar Hammerstein II following a screening of JoAnn Young’s documentary Oscar Hammerstein II – Out of My Dreams, to be held at the Paley Center on January 31 at 6:30pm.
The film chronicles the achievements of lyricist/librettist Hammerstein, who contributed to over 45 musicals. The documentary includes clips from his iconic musicals, including two film versions of Show Boat; the rarely seen film Lady Be Good; and archival footage of the two original stars of Carousel, Jan Clayton and John Raitt.
In addition, Out of My Dreams features interviews with Sondheim, as well as director/producer Harold Prince; two stars of Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, Shirley Jones and Mitzi Gaynor, Hammerstein family members and others.
