Melanie Moore to Be Featured in Dance from the Heart Benefit

So You Think You Can Dance champion Melanie Moore will be featured in Dance from the Heart, to be held at New York City’s Cedar Lake Theater on January 23 and 24 at 6:30pm and 8:30 pm on both nights. The benefit event is produced by Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares.

Moore will be premiering a number choreographed exclusively for her by fellow So You Think You Can Dance alum Travis Wall.

Among the other highlights of the planned program will be an original piece by Ray Mercer from Broadway’s The Lion King in memory of Gail Perlman; and a new work from choreographers Melissa Rae Mahon and Sean McKnight.

Additional participants will include Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In.Motion, Stefanie Batten Bland, The Chase Brock Experience, Jessica Lang Dance, Cecilia Marta, Jeremy McQueen, Jodi Melnick, Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, Matthew Prescott and Misty Copeland, Rennie Harris Puremovement, Janie Taylor and Jared Angle, Michael Trusnovec, and Jonathan Royse Windham.
