Darling Companion, Starring Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline to Open Santa Barbara International Film Festival

The Sony Classic Pictures film Darling Companion, directed by Lawrence Kasdan, will open the 2012 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, according to Deadline.com.

The film centers on Beth, who saves a lost dog on the side of the freeway, and forms a special bond with the animal. When her husband then loses the dog after a wedding at their Rocky Mountain vacation home, Beth enlists the remaining guests to help find it.

Diane Keaton will star as Beth, with Kevin Kline as her husband, Joseph. The film cast will also include Richard Jenkins, Elisabeth Moss, Sam Shepard, Dianne Wiest, and Ayelet Zurer.
