Lucas Grabeel, Harry Groener, Eric McCormack, and More Set for Reprise’s Fantasticks

Casting has been announced for Reprise Theatre Company’s production of the Tom Jones-Harvey Schmidt musical, The Fantasticks, to play the Freud Playhouse, May 5-17. Jason Alexander will direct, with musical direction by Darryl Archibald, and choreography by Lee Martino.

Based on Edmond Rostand’s Les Romanesques, this allegorical tale concerns two fathers who put up a wall between their houses to ensure that their children fall in love, because they know that children always do what their parents forbid.

The cast is led by Emmy Award winner Eric McCormack as El Gallo, High School Musical‘s Lucas Grabeel as Matt, and Tony nominee Harry Groener as Bellomy. The cast will also include Barry Dennen as Henry, Hap Lawrence as Mortimer, Kim Mikesell as the Mute, Eileen T’Kaye as Hucklebee, and Alison Woods as Luisa.

The production will feature scenic design by Bradley Kaye, costume design by Kate Bergh, lighting design by Driscoll Otto, and sound design by Philip G. Allen.
