Colony Theatre Company Announces 2012-2013 Season

The Colony Theatre Company has announced the selections for its 2012-2013 season.

The season will open with Evan Smith’s The Savannah Disputation, running June 13-July 8. In the comedy, a Catholic spinster’s faith starts to waver after befriending a Pentecostal evangelical.

John Morogiello’s theater-themed comedy Blame it on Beckett, about the goings-on behind the scenes at a non-profit theater company, follows, August 8-September 2.

From September 26 to October 21, the company will present Stephen Tomlinson’s American Fiesta, which examines a collector’s obsession with the Depression-era ceramic dinnerware known as Fiestaware.

Willy Holtzman’s The Morini Strad, a drama about the true-life friendship of violinist Erica Morini and Brian Skarstad, the violin maker she hires to restore her legendary Stradivarius, will run November 14-December 16.

The new year will begin with I’ll Be Back Before Midnight, a suspense thriller by Peter Colley, follows, running February 6-March 3.

The season closes with Falling for Make Believe, a musical revue based on the life of Lorenz Hart, featuring the lyricist’s work with Richard Rodgers, and a book by Mark Saltzman.
