Full Cast Set for Remy Bumppo’s thinkTank 09

The full cast has been announced for the 2009 presentation of Remy Bumppo’s thinkTank, a project that will kick off with a two-day artist workshop, September 8-9. Remy Bumppo’s thinkTank 09 will have a regular run March 12 through April 5, 2009 at The Greenhouse Theater. Nick Sandys will direct.

This year’s presentation features three spoken word artists, Idris Goodwin, Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai, and Usman Ally. They will collaborate on an original work combining hip-hop, spoken word, and theater aesthetics to examine the mass media’s role in perpetuating cultural norms surrounding race and gender.

Goodwin is an award winning hip hop playwright, break beat poet, recording artist and teacher; Tsai is a Chicago-born, Brooklyn-based, Chinese Taiwanese American spoken word artist; and Ally is a Pakistani national who was born and raised in Southern and Eastern Africa for 18 years and his credits include Public Enemy, and Tranquility Woods.
