Nicolette Robinson Makes Waitress Debut, Cheered On by Leslie Odom Jr. and More

Cynthia Erivo, Patina Miller, and Mariska Hargitay were also on hand to celebrate Robinson’s Broadway debut.

Nicolette Robinson made her Broadway debut as Jenna in Waitress on September 4, and a star-studded crowd was there to welcome her.

On hand were Robinson's husband, Leslie Odom Jr., who threw a postshow celebration in his wife's honor at the Library of Distilled Spirits, as well as Cynthia Erivo, Patina Miller, Mariska Hargitay, Peter Hermann, Anthony Ramos, and many others. Waitress currently stars Robinson as Jenna, Benny Elledge (Cal), NaTasha Yvette Williams (Becky), Adam Shapiro (Ogie), Drew Gehling (Dr. Pomatter), Katie Lowes (Dawn), Bill Nolte (Joe), Ben Thompson (Earl), Mariam Bedigan and London Skye Gilliam (Lulu), Tyrone Davis, Jr., Matt DeAngelis, Law Terrell Dunford, Molly Hager, Jessie Hooker-Bailey, Anastacia McCleskey, and Stephanie Torns. Al Roker takes on the role of Joe beginning October 5.

Based on the 2007 motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress is the first Broadway musical in history to have four women in the four top creative team spots, with a book by Jessie Nelson, a score by Sara Bareilles, choreography by Lorin Latarro and direction by Diane Paulus.
