A celebration of the life and legacy of three-time Tony nominee Marin Mazzie will take place on October 25 at 1:30pm at the Gershwin Theatre, her husband, Jason Danieley, has announced.

"I wanted to toast Marin in a Broadway theatre surrounded by people who loved her since she spent so much of her life on stage and loved this community so much," Danieley said in a statement. "We are all still very much in mourning, but I know Marin would want us to celebrate, sing, and even laugh, and that's what we intend to do."

The event will feature performances and testimonials from loved ones and theater colleagues, in tribute to Mazzie, who passed away on September 13 after a tenacious three-year struggle with ovarian cancer.

Mazzie was nominated for Tony Awards for her performances in Passion (1994), Ragtime (1998), and Kiss Me, Kate (2000). Her other Broadway credits include Big River, Into the Woods, Man of La Mancha, Spamalot, Next to Normal, Enron, Bullets Over Broadway, and The King and I, in which she replaced Kelli O'Hara as Anna Leonowens in 2016 following her initial treatment for ovarian cancer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Support Community, the Actors Fund, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, and Western Michigan University's Barbara Marineau/Marin Mazzie Music Theatre Scholarship.
