Florida Studio Theatre will kick-off its 2012 summer season with Jim Luigs and Scott Warrender's musical Das Barbecu, to run June 13-July 15 in the Keating Theatre.

Loosely based on Wagner's Ring Cycle, the musical is set in Texas and performed by five actors playing 30 outrageous characters, from gods and monsters to billionaires and road-side show people.

The cast includes Joshua Carter, Maria Couch, Stephen Hope, Joanna Parson, and Billie Wildrick. The production is directed by Dennis Courtney, with musical direction by David Nelson, choreography by Stephen Hope, scenic design by Rob Eastman-Mullins, costume design by April Soroko, lighting design by Joseph p. Oshry, and sound by John Valines.
