Judd Hirsch to Star in Seattle ACT’s Below the Belt

Stage and screen star Judd Hirsch will star in ACT – A Contemporary Theatre’s production of Richard Dresser’s Below the Belt, May 22-June 21. The play focuses on three men who try to maintain their humanity while working in a factory.

The theater’s 2009 season will begin with Jeffrey Hatcher’s adaptation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, to run April 10-May 10. Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s hip-hop infused solo, the break/s, directed by Michael John Garces, will play June 18-July 12. The musical Das Barbecü, featuring book and lyrics by Jim Luigs with music by Scott Warrender, will play July 31-September 6. Up next will be writer/performer Bo Eason’s solo show Runt of the Litter, directed by Larry Moss, to be performed September 18-October 11. Tom Stoppard’s Rock ‘n’ Roll, to be directed by Kurt Beattie, will conclude the season, October 9-November 8.
