The Seafarer Replaces 1001 in Marin Theatre Season

By Tristan Fuge • Apr 17, 2008 • San Francisco
Marin Theatre Company will replace the previously announced production of 1001 by Jason Grote with the Bay Area premiere of The Seafarer by Conor McPherson, November 13-December 7.

The Seafarer is set on Christmas Eve when Sharky returns to Dublin to look after his aging brother who's recently gone blind. Between a card game with old friends and the arrival of a stranger from the distant past, the stakes are raised ever higher. Conor McPherson's other plays include Rum & Vodka, The Good Thief, This Lime Tree Bower, The Weir, and Shining City.

Previously announced MTC season productions will include Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, September 11-October 5; Athol Fugard's My Children! My Africa! January 15-February 8; Octavio Solis' Lydia, March 19 - April 12, and Joe Orton's What the Butler Saw, June 4-June 28.
