From the producer of The Lion King comes the timeless story of Aladdin, a thrilling production filled with beauty, magic, comedy, and breathtaking spectacle. It's an extraordinary theatrical event in which one lamp and three wishes make the possibilities infinite. Aladdin features songs from the film as well as new music written by Tony and Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Newsies). The lyrics are by Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast), Tony winner Tim Rice (The Lion King), and book writer Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer).
The year is 1907. A decade after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House, The Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York City. There he lives among the joyrides and freak shows of Coney Island. In this electrically charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar, but he has never stopped yearning for his true love and musical protégée, Christine Daaé.
And what has become of Christine? Now one of the world's finest sopranos, she accepts an invitation to travel from Paris to N.Y.C. to perform at a renowned opera house. Her marriage to Raoul is suffering at the hands of his drinking and gambling, and they desperately need the financial rewards that the United States can give them.
Now The Phantom thinks he has another chance. In a final bid to win back Christine's love, he lures her, Raoul, and their young son, Gustave, from Manhattan to the glittering world of Coney Island.
One of the biggest sensations in musical theater more than 20 years on since its first run in 2003, few musicals have attained a following quite like Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz — the ninth longest-running Broadway show, and one of only five top musicals alongside Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia!, and The Lion King to have made it to its 10th anniversary!
