Haley Joel Osment, Stephen Rowe Set for Philadelphia Theatre Company’s Red

Philadelphia Theatre Company will open its 2011-2012 season with John Logan’s bio-drama about painter Mark Rothko, Red, to run October 14 – November13.

Anders Cato will direct the production, which will star Stephen Rowe as Rothko and Haley Joel Osment as the painter’s brash assistant. The creative team will include scenic designer James Noone, lighting designer Tyler Micoleau, and costume designer Alejo Vietti, as well as Josh Schmidt, who will serve and sound designer and compose original music.


The season will also include The Scottsboro Boys (January 20 – February 19), with music and lyrics John Kander and Fred Ebb, and a book by David Thompson; Bruce Graham’s The Outgoing Tide (March 23 – April 22); and Neil LaBute’s reasons to be pretty (May 25 – June 24).
