Anthony Heald, Richard Montoya, Herbert Siguenza, et al. Set for Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s 2010 Season

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has announced casting for its 2010 season, under the artistic leadership of Bill Rauch.

Among the highlights is Tony nominee Anthony Heald starring as Shylock in The Merchant of Venice, directed by Rauch (June 3-October 10). Culture Clash members Richard Montoya and Herbert Siguenza will be featured in Montoya’s American Night, to be directed by Jo Bonney (June 29-October 31).

As previously announced, the season will also include Ping Chong directing his adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1957 film Throne of Blood (July 21-October 31), along with the Shakespeare plays Twelfth Night (June 1-October 8), directed by Darko Tresnjak; Henry IV, Part One (June 2-October 9), directed by Penny Metropulos; and Hamlet (June 2-October 9), also directed by Rauch.

Additional shows will include an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice (February 21-October 31), directed by Libby Appel; Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (February 20-July 4), directed by Christopher Liam Moore; the Jerry Bock-Sheldon Harnick-Joe Masteroff musical She Loves Me (April 21-October 30), directed by Rebecca Bayla Taichman; Lisa Kron’s Well (February 25-June 18), directed by James Edmondson; and Lynn Nottage’s Ruined (March 24-October 31), directed by Liesl Tommy.
