Ed Asner will be the guest of honor at The Cleveland Play House’s first annual Hall of Fame Luncheon, to be held on September 24 at noon at Stages Restaurant.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2010 includes Margaret Hamilton, Elizabeth Flory Kelly, Shirley Oberlin, Artha Woods and Kirk Willis, as well as long-time Play House staff member Elijah Ford, who will be honored as the first recipient of the “Heritage” Award. The theater’s Hall of Fame honors founders, long-time board members, artists, staff members, and donors, who have made meaningful contributions to the Play House since its founding in 1915.

Asner, who has already been inducted into the theater’s Hall of Fame, is the recipient of seven Emmy Awards, and received another 16 Emmy nominations, as well as five Golden Globe Awards. His New York City theater credits include Ivanov, The Tempest, Face of a Hero, King Henry V, and Born Yesterday. He is perhaps best known for his work on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
