Sarah DeLappe's The Wolves to Open Playwrights Realm's 10th Anniversary Season

Playwrights Realm will kick off its 2016-17 10th anniversary season with the world premiere of Sarah Delappe’s The Wolves. Directed by Lila Neugebauer and featuring a company of 10 female actors, the production will run from August 29-September 24 at the Realm’s new home for the season, the Duke on 42nd Street.
In The Wolves, a girls indoor soccer team "navigates big questions and wages tiny battles" from the safety of their suburban stretch circle. The play is described as "a portrait of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for nine American teens who just want to score some goals."
Playwrights Realm 2016-17 10th anniversary season also includes Jen Silverman’s The Moors (February 27-March 25), a darkly comic examination of the ways in which women fight for visibility, directed by Mike Donahue. Then, Mfoniso Udofia's Sojourners & Her Portmanteau (spring 2017) will be performed in repertory and directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar. The play, which is presented by New York Theatre Workshop in association with The Playwrights Realm, probes into the ties that bind mothers and daughters and how we define home.
