Full casting has been announced for the New York Theatre Workshop production of Lazarus, by David Bowie and Enda Walsh (Once). The musical begins previews November 18, with an opening night set for December 7.

Joining the previously announced Michael C. Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Dexter) will be Tony Award nominee Cristin Milioti (Once) as Elly and Michael Esper (The Last Ship) as Valentine. Rounding out the cast are Krystina Alabado (American Idiot), Sophia Anne Caruso (The Sound of Music: Live), Nicholas Christopher (Whorl Inside A Loop), Lynn Craig (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Bobby Moreno (Year of the Rooster), Krista Pioppi (Spring Awakening national tour), Charlie Pollock (The Wild Party), and Brynn Williams (Bye Bye Birdie).

Inspired by the novel The Man Who Fell to Earth, Lazarus features a host of new Bowie songs, as well as new arrangements of previously recorded tunes. Walsh pens the script and Ivo van Hove (A View From the Bridge) directs.

The work centers on Thomas Newton (Hall), an extraterrestrial who lands on Earth while looking for ways to send water to his drought-plagued planet. Bowie famously played the role in Nicolas Roeg's 1976 screen adaptation, but he is not expected to appear in the stage production.
