Utkarsh Ambudkar, Amir Arison, Bina Sharif, et al. Set for Beyond Bollywood and Broadway Readings

The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at the CUNY Graduate Center will host a two-day series of readings celebrating the publication of Beyond Bollywood and Broadway: Plays from the South Asian Diaspora, a collection of South Asian diasporic plays. The event, curated by the volume’s editor Neilesh Bose, will be held August 10 and 11.

Participating actors will include Bina Sharif, Rita Wolf, Mariana Newhard, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Chriselle Almeida, Simon Deonarian, Ali N. Khan, Kayhan Irani, Eliyas Qureshi, Sunita Deshpande, Adeel Ahmed, Kiran Malhotra, Rajinderpal Pal, Sharbari Ahmed, Geeta Citygirl, Gita Reddy, Ranjit Chowdhury, Samrat Chakrabarti, Andrew Guilarte, James Himelsbach, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Sunita Mukhi, Kapil Bawa, Nitya Vidyasagar, Sam Ghosh, Sean Krishnan, Sanjit De Silva, Amir Arison, Purva Bedi, Farah Bala, Sanjiv Jhaveri, Aadya Bedi, Madhur Jaffrey, Debargo Sanyal, Rajesh Bose, Mahira Kakkar, Shishir Kurup, Neil Shah, Shetal Shah, and Shishir Kurup.

The works will be directed by Ian Morgan, Gita Reddy, Shishir Kurup, and Geeta Citygirl. Playwrights represented in this anthology who will be in attendance at this conference include Ronnie Govender, Rukhsana Ahmad, Rahul Varma, Rana Bose, Shishir Kurup, and Anuvab Pal.
