Andrew D. Hamingson will assume the post of Executive Director of St. Ann’s Warehouse on March 1.

Hamingson’s appointment as St. Ann’s first Executive Director follows a year’s worth of consulting work he has done for the organization as Principal in the development and strategic planning services company A.D. Hamingson & Associates. He will partner with artistic director Susan Feldman and the board to lead the transformation of St. Ann’s new space, 29 Jay Street, into a performance venue comparable to their current home at 38 Water Street, as well as lead the search for a permanent home.

“It became apparent to the Board and to me that if we were to succeed in securing a permanent home, our organizational structure and staffing would have to keep pace with the achievements and ideals of programming – that we needed additional executive leadership at the highest level to tackle fundraising, real estate, and institutional challenges ahead,” Feldman said in a statement. “The more Andy and I talked, the more I kept thinking, ‘Why not Andy?’.”

Hamingson, the Executive Director of The Public Theater from 2008 until 2011, added, “I am profoundly honored to be serving as their first Executive Director and to help lead St. Ann’s during this period of artistic and financial growth. I look forward to ensuring our future in Brooklyn.”

In the year since he founded A.D. Hamingson & Associates, his clients have included The New Group, Naked Angels Theater Company, The Civilians, and others. He has also worked as Managing Director of Atlantic Theater Company and Director of Development at Manhattan Theatre Club.
