John Lloyd Young -- who won Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World awards for his performance as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys -- will return to the role for another limited engagement at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre, beginning on January 11. He most recently appeared in the show July 3-September 30.
Jarrod Spector, who currently portrays Frankie Valli, will take his final bow on Sunday, December 30. The role will then be played by Dominic Scaglione Jr. between December 31 and January 10.
The winner of the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical, the show is based on the life story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, and chronicles the lives of a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. It features dozens of the group's popular hits, including "Walk Like a Man," "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Oh What a Night," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You."
The musical, which is directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff, also stars Matt Bogart (Aida) as Nick Massi, Drew Gehling (On a Clear Day…) as Bob Gaudio, and Jeremy Kushnier (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Tommy DeVito. The supporting cast also includes Peter Gregus, Mark Lotito, Miles Aubrey, Candi Boyd, Jared Bradshaw, Charl Brown, Cara Cooper, Ken Dow, Russell Fischer, Kristofer McNeeley, Katie O'Toole, Joe Payne, Jessica Rush, Dominic Scaglione Jr., Nathan Scherich, Sara Schmidt, and Taylor Sternberg. It is written by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and features choreography by Sergio Trujillo.
