The American Theatre Wing has released the Downstage Center podcast of a discussion with Tony Award-winning composer John Kander.
In the interview — the 300th in the series — Kander speaks to the Wing’s executive director, Howard Sherman, about his long collaboration with the late Fred Ebb, including their four final projects The Scottsboro Boys, The Visit, All About Us, and Curtains. Kander also demonstrates in the studio how the same melody can be used to change tone over the course of a show.
