High School Musical‘s Corbin Bleu will play Usnavi in the Broadway company of the Tony Award-winning In the Heights at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in the new year, according to a report in Variety. The actor will appear in the musical from January 25 – April 25.

Bleu played basketball player Chad in the television incarnations of High School Musical and the 2008 feature film. His other screen credits include Catch That Kid and Free Style. Also a recording artist, Bleu released his second solo album, Speed of Light, earlier this year.

Heights is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler. Featuring music and lyrics by Lin Manuel Miranda, and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, the musical focuses on the tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan and the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition.
