Brown, Cavenaugh, Jenkins, et al. Set for Project Shaw’s Candida

Blair Brown, Matt Cavenaugh, Ed Dixon, Annie Golden, and Daniel Jenkins will star in Project Shaw’s staged reading of George Bernard Shaw’s classic play Candida, at 7pm on Monday, January 22 at the Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South).

Written in 1898, the play focuses on a happily married couple who are challenged by the passions of a young poet. The show has been produced numerous times on Broadway, including a 1946 production with Katharine Cornell and Marlon Brando, a 1952 revival starring Olivia de Havilland, and a 1981 revival starring Joanne Woodward.

Brown, who will play the title role, won the Tony Award for Copenhagen and is currently appearing in Lincoln Center’s production of The Clean House. Cavenaugh is currently on Broadway in Grey Gardens. Dixon’s many stage credits include Under the Bridge and Les Miserables. Golden recently starred Off-Broadway in Mimi Le Duck. Jenkins is currently on Broadway as Mr. Banks in Mary Poppins.
