Dawn E. Cantwell, Grace McLean, Nick Spangler, et al. Set for Reading of Rebel Girls Musical

Grace McLean, Dawn E. Cantwell, Jonathan Todd Ross, Stephen Bel Davies, Nick Spangler, Catherine Brookman, Linda Marie Larson, Colin McAdoo, Natasha Soto-Albors, Cadden Jones, Timothy Hughes, Kari Floberg, Aleka Emerson, Danny J. Gardner, Ashley Foley, James Austin and Emily Arancio will be featured in CAP 21’s Monday Night Reading Series presentation of the musical Rebel Girls, at The Shop, on November 22 at 7:30pm. Michael Barakiva will direct the reading, with musical direction by Barbara Anselmi.

Featuring music and lyrics by Tina Lear, with book and lyrics by Elise Forier Edie, the show is set in January 1912 in the gloomy factory town of Lawrence, Massachusetts. A desperate band of starving immigrant textile workers staged what was to become one of the most pivotal strikes in the history of the labor movement. Two sisters, caught in the events, find themselves on opposite sides of the strike, and must choose between the obligations of family, and their own hearts’ desire.
