Melba Moore to Headline Prince’s Ain’t Misbehavin’

Tony Award winner Melba Moore will headline the Prince Music Theatre’s production of the Fats Waller revue Ain’t Misbehavin’, December 4-31. The production, which will open officially on December 8, will be directed by Richard M. Parison, Jr., with choreography by Mercedes Ellington.

The show, which was originally conceived by Richard Maltby Jr. and Murray Horowitz, is a revue of Waller’s songs, which include “T’Aint Nobody’s Business If I Do,” “Mean to Me,” and “Honeysuckle Rose.”

The cast will also feature Eugene Fleming, Ken Prymus, Andrea Dora, Gabrielle Hurtt, and Chanta Layton. The creative team features Eric Barnes (music supervision), Todd Edward Ivins (sets), Mark Mariani (costumes), Shelley Hicklin (lighting), and Nick Kourtides (sound).

Moore received the Tony Award for Purlie. Her other stage credits include Hair, Les Miserables, and Chicago. She is also a Grammy Award-nominated recording artist.
