Don Johnson to Join London’s Guys and Dolls in January

Film and television star Don Johnson will take over the role of Nathan Detroit in Michael Grandage’s production of Guys and Dolls at the Picadilly Theatre in January.

The role is currently being played by Patrick Swayze, who will depart the show at the end of next week. Actor Alex Ferns, a star of the popular British series EastEnders, will take over the role of Nathan on December 4.

Johnson is best known for his starring roles on the TV series Nash Bridges and Miami Vice. His other film and television credits include From Here to Eternity, The Long Hot Summer, Sweet Hearts Dance and Tin Cup. His stage credits include Your Own Thing and Fortune and Men’s Eyes.

Guys and Dolls also stars Samantha Janus, Amy Nuttall, and Norman Bowman. The show is currently selling tickets through April 2007.
