Glee‘s Ryan Murphy to Be Honored by Hetrick-Martin Institute

Glee creator Ryan Murphy will be among the honorees at The Hetrick-Martin Institute’s 2010 Emery Awards, to be held at Cipriani Wall Street on Tuesday, November 9, at 7pm. Wendy Williams will host.

The evening will also honor Huffington Post co-founder Arianna Huffington and fashion entrepreneur Marc Ecko. Bethenny Frankel, star of Bethenny Getting Married?, will be the auctioneer for the event. Also in attendance will be HMI Ambassadors Andy Bell, Cheyenne Jackson, Robert Verdi, and B.D. Wong.

Murphy is being recognized for creating what press notes describe as “one of the most sensitive and powerful portrayals of a gay youth on television. The role of Kurt Hummel on the hit show portrays a young person striving to be true to himself and a circle of friends that support him in that journey.”

Tickets start at $500. For more information, visit www.hmi.org.
