Film Star Chris Pine Set for Off-Broadway’s The Atheist

Film star Chris Pine will star in the Off-Broadway premiere of Ronan Noone’s solo play The Atheist at Center Stage, November 24-December 23. The show, which will be directed by David Sullivan, will open officially on November 29.

Described as a dark comedy about a rising-star journalist’s relentless quest for fame, The Atheist was previously seen in the Breaking Ground Festival at Boston’s Huntington Theater, starring Campbell Scott. The creative team of the Off-Broadway production includes Richard Chambers (sets), Jennifer Caprio (costumes), Stephen Boulmetis (lights), and Haddon Kime (original music). Among Noone’s previous works are The Blowin of Baile Gall and The Lepers of Baile Baiste.

Pine’s stage credits include A Month in the Country and Bhutan, as well as numerous plays at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. He is best known for the fims The Princess Diaries 2 and Just My Luck, and he will be seen in the upcoming Carriers and Smokin’ Aces.
