Feinstein, Guettel, and Pierce to Guest Star When BJ Ward Sings Barer at Feinstein’s

Michael Feinstein, Adam Guettel, and David Hyde Pierce will be the special guests of singer BJ Ward when she brings her critically acclaimed cabaret show BJ Ward Sings Marshall Barer to Feinstein’s at the Regency (540 Park Avenue) on Mondays, October 17, 24, 31, and November 7, at 8:30pm.

Ward will present the work of Barer, the lyricist best known for the writing both the Broadway musical Once Upon a Mattress and the theme for the TV cartoon Mighty Mouse. The engagement coincides with the release of the CD of the same name on October 18 from Feinery Records.

There will be no guests for the opening performance. Feinstein, the club’s owner and one of the country’s most popular recording and concert artists, will appear on October 24; Guettel, the Tony Award-winning composer of The Light in the Piazza and the son of Barer’s Mattress collaborator, Mary Rodgers, will appear on October 31; Pierce, the Emmy-winning actor now starring in Spamalot, will guest star on November 7.

The shows are the kick-off of a new series called “Michael Feinstein Presents” on selected Monday nights; it will continue with the British comedy group Kit and the Widow, with special guest Joan Rivers (November 28) and Kathryn Crosby in Kathryn Crosby Remembers Bing (December 5).
