The Radio City Rockettes have become the official Godmothers of Norwegian Cruise Line's new ocean liner, the Norwegian Breakaway, which will be christened in New York City on May 8, 2013. The Breakaway will be the largest ship to homeport year-round in New York.

As part of their role as Godmothers, two members of the Rockettes will be aboard the first six sailings of the Breakaway, as well as the first sailing of each month following.

The 4,000 passenger ship will begin seven-day cruises to Bermuda on May 12, 2013, and will sail to the Bahamas, Florida, and the Southern Caribbean from October to April. On-board entertainment includes production of Broadway's Rock of Ages, Burn the Floor, and Cirque Dreams & Dinner Jungle Fantasy.
