Joely Richardson to Join Ethan Hawke in CSC’s Ivanov

Stage and screen star has joined the Classic Stage Company cast of Anton Chekhov’s Ivanov, to run October 17-November 25, with an opening on November 4. Austin Pendleton will direct.

As previously reported, Ethan Hawke stars in the title role, with the cast also featuring Glenn Fitzgerald (Borkin), Roberta Maxwell (Zinaida), George Morfogen (Shabelsky), Juliet Rylance (Sasha), Jonathan Marc Sherman (Lvov) and Louis Zorich (Lebedev).

Richardson, who will play Anna, received a Drama Desk nomination for her most recent Off-Broadway appearance, in Michael Weller’s Side Effects. She received two Golden Globe nominations for her appearances on Nip/Tuck, and recent films include Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Red Lights, and Anonymous, with her latest feature Thanks For Sharing, to debut at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival.

Chekhovv’s work will be seen in a translation by Carol Rocamora, and the production will feature scenic design by Santo Loquasto, costumes by Marco Piemontese , lighting by Keith Parham and original music and sound by Ryan Rumery.
