Ronald K. Brown and his acclaimed Evidence, A Dance Company held its eighth annual On Our Toes benefit in the Hamptons on Saturday, August 20 on the sprawling grounds of the Hayground School in Bridgehampton.
Brown is the choreographer for the revival of The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess, which is currently performing at American Repertory Theatre, with a Broadway transfer to the Richard Rodgers Theatre set for later this season.
At the gala, Evidence performed “Ife My Heart”, a signature piece for the company, which was built as the journey of three families to one destination: a place where the heart was open. Participating company members included Waldean Nelson, Lilli Anne Tai, Clarice Young, Annique Roberts, Tislarm Bouie and Associate Artistic Director Arcell Cabuag.
