Alison Fraser, Jill Shackner Join Off-Broadway’s Charity Case

Two-time Tony nominee Alison Fraser and Jill Shackner will join the previously reported Alysia Reiner in the Off-Broadway production of A Charity Case, written and directed by Wendy Beckett. The play will perform in the Clurman Theatre, beginning October 28, with an opening on November 2.

The play examines the adoption triangle between a birth mother, the relinquishing mother and a 17 year-old daughter.

The production will feature scenic design by David L Arsenault, lighting design by Travis McHale, and costume design by Theresa Squire.

Fraser received Tony nominations for her performances in The Secret Garden and Romance/Romance, with her many other theater credits including School for Lies, Gypsy, The Green Heart, and The Divine Sister.

Shackner has appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables and Off-Broadway in Landscape of the Body, Prince & The Pauper, Penny 4 Eyes Rock N’ Roll Show, and The Broadway Kids.
