The annual Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Flea Market is one of the best days of the year for theater lovers who are interested in both shopping and stargazing. This year’s event, held on Sunday, September 24, raised a whopping $505,832 for BC/EFA. Here’s Tarzan‘s leading man, Josh Strickland, showing off one of the autographed posters that was on sale at the show’s booth on 44th Street.
For many fans, the best thing about the event is the Celebrity Table, where they can meet and be photographed with some of the biggest stars of stage, film, and television. Among this year’s participants were John Lloyd Young, winner of the 2006 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his stunning turn as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys.
And here’s LaChanze, this year’s Best Actress in a Musical winner for her brilliant work as Celie in The Color Purple.
Jesse L. Martin’s role of Detective Ed Green on Law & Order has kept the former Rent star away from the stage.
Here’s Martin’s newest TV partner, Milena Govich, who last graced the Great White Way in Good Vibrations.
Another Broadway and television star, Edie Falco, was a big hit at the table…
…as was the handsome Norm Lewis, who returns to Broadway next month as Javert in the revival of Les Misérables.
Michael Berresse, who plays choreographer Zack in the revival of A Chorus Line, was another fan favorite.
So were the wonderful Eden Espinosa, soon to wrap up her run as Elphaba in Wicked…
…and the very talented Patrick Wilson, who’ll be seen on the big screen next month opposite Kate Winslet in the controversial film Little Children.
There were some very special pairs at the event, such as Tony Award winner Beth Leavel and her Drowsy Chaperone co-star Danny Burstein….
…real-life couple Marin Mazzie (who takes over next month as the Lady of the Lake in Monty Python’s Spamalot) and husband Jason Danieley (who’s expected to come to Broadway later this season in the much-anticipated musical Curtains)…
…the one-and-only Harvey Fierstein and The Times They Are A-Changin’ star Michael Arden, clowning around…
…the ever-youthful Andrea McArdle (now starring as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper in NYMF’s Behind the Limelight) and funnyman Mario Cantone…
…and the now short-haired Matthew Morrison with his lovely, long-locked girlfriend Chrishell Stause, who stars on ABC’s All My Children.
