Originally producerd at London's Royal Court Theatre, the two-actor play concerns Kelly, a young therapist whose husband dies while on military duty in Iraq. A year later, the husband's identical twin arrives unexpectedly, seeking answers about his brother's death.
Shinn's previous plays, including Four, Where Do We Live, What Didn't Happen, and Other People, have been presented by such Off-Broadway companies as Manhattan Theater Club, Playwrights Horizons, and the Vineyard. Dying City will mark the first production of a Shinn work at Lincoln Center.
Macdonald directed the London production of Dying City and the New York Theater Workshop production of Caryl Churchill's A Number. He is currently represented in the West End by Exiles.
