Ripley, Dvorsky to Star in Boston Concert Presentation of On the Twentieth Century

Full casting has been announced for Overture Productions’ concert presentation of On the Twentieth Century, which will run September 23-25 at the Cutler Majestic Theater at Emerson College in Boston.

The company will be led by Broadway stars Alice Ripley and George Dvorsky as starlet Lily Garland and her ex-paramour, producer Oscar Jaffe. A Tony Award nominee for Side Show, Ripley has also been seen on Broadway in Sunset Boulevard and The Rocky Horror Show. Dvorsky’s Main Stem credits include Passion, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Also in the cast are Cheryl McMahon as Letitia Peabody Primrose, Andrew Giordano as Bruce Granit, Paul Farwell as Owen O’Malley, William Hartery as Oliver Webb, Robert De Vivo as Max Jacobs, Megan Tillman as Imelda Thornton, John King as The Conductor, and Cyrus Brooks, Brian De Lorenzo, Russell Ferguson, Joe Gonzales, Michael Letch, Jeff Mahoney, Andy McLeavey, and Shaquan Reed as the porters.

The ensemble consists of Jaclyn Campbell, Aimee Doherty, Jackie Duffy, Ryan Dunn, Karen Fanale, Frank Gayton, Paul Giragos, Amanda Hancock, Kathy Keefe, Catherine Lee, Michael Letch, Naomi Gurt Lind, Stephanie Mann, Melanie May, Allison Murphy, Rene Lewis Pfister, Chip Phillips, Deb Poppel, Don Ringuette, Andrew Ryker, Steve Shannon, Jesse Strachman, Erin Tchoukaleff, Dawn Tucker, and Jennifer Walker. The concert will be directed by Tony McLean, with musical direction by Michael Joseph.

On The Twentieth Century, with music by Cy Coleman and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, is an adaptation of the classic Ben Hecht-Charles MacArthur film comedy Twentieth Century. Tickets to the production at Emerson range in price from $20 to $60; proceeds will go to support Boston-based youth arts programs.
