Off-Broadway Opening of Bare Postponed Indefinitely

The production had been scheduled to begin performances on October 27 after two previous delays. According to a press release issued this afternoon, "Some financial backing has fallen out and replacement capital could not be confirmed in time to keep to the current schedule. Theater 1 at Dodger Stages is being held for the show to allow production to resume as soon as possible. A revised schedule will be announced soon."
With music by Damon Intrabartolo, lyrics by Jon Hartmere, Jr., and a libretto by Intrabartolo and Hartmere, Bare concerns the coming of age of a group of Catholic high school seniors. Originally produced in Los Angeles in 2000, the pop opera had a run this past spring at the American Theatre of Actors on West 54th Street.
