The 2012 Radio City Christmas Spectacular officially kicked off its holiday season on Tuesday, August 14 with "Christmas in August," celebrating 85 years of the Rockettes performing in New York City.

The event included aerial skywriting messages above New York City, a visit from Santa Claus, and a costume retrospective showcasing memorable Rockettes styles through the years. There was also a guest appearance by John Foxx of WPLJ, and the festivities culminated with a Rockettes performance on 6th Avenue outside of Radio City Music Hall.
