Jonas Kaufmann to Perform October 30 Metropolitan Opera Recital

Jonas Kaufmann will sing his first-ever New York recital at the Metropolitan Opera on Sunday, October 30 at 4pm. He will be accompanied by pianist Helmut Deutsch,

Kaufmann will perform songs and lieder by Franz Liszt, Gustav Mahler, Henri Duparc, and Richard Strauss.

Kaufmann will star at the Metropolitan Opera this season in a new production of Gounod’s Faust and as Siegmund in the complete cycles of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen. He has previously appeared at the Metropolitan in La Traviata, Die Zauberflöte, Tosca and Carmen. His many recordings include Strauss Lieder, Verismo Arias, and Die Schöne Müller.
