Director David Pressman Has Died

Award-winning director David Pressman has died, according to Variety. He was 97.

Pressman’s theater career began as a performer, studying with Sanford Meisner, and later teaching at Meisner’s Neighborhood Playhouse. As an actor, he appeared on Broadway in Brooklyn, U.S.A., The Eye of St. Mark, and Dream Girl.

His directorial credits on Broadway include Roman Candle and The Disenchanted.

Pressman worked primarily in television, including helming episodes of Actor’s Studio. He worked on the daytime dramas Another World and One Life to Live, winning three Emmy Awards for his work on the latter show.


Pressman is survived by a wife, three sons, five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
