As previously announced, Cosby will receive the Kennedy Center's 12th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The ceremony, which will recognize the life and achievements of the beloved comedian, will be taped, and air on PBS stations nationwide November 4.
Cosby, one of the world's foremost comedians and actors, is best known for his television work, which includes I Spy, The Bill Cosby Show, The Cosby Show, Cosby, and the animated series Hey, Hey, Hey, It's Fat Albert. Cosby starred in the film version of Neil Simon's play California Suite.His film credits include Hickey & Boggs, Uptown Saturday Night, Mother, Jugs & Sped, and Ghost Dad.
