It’s Outta Here: Movin’ Out Will Close on December 11

The Broadway production of Movin’ Out, the Tony Award-winning dance musical featuring the songs of Billy Joel, will have its final performance on December 11. At the time of its closing, the show will have played 28 previews and 1,303 regular performances.
The production, which opened in October 2002, received a total of 10 Tony Award nominations in 2003 (including Best Musical) and won two awards: Best Choreography for Twyla Tharp and Best Orchestrations for Stuart Malina and Billy Joel.
Five of the show’s performers — John Selya, Keith Roberts, Elizabeth Parkinson, Ashley Tuttle and Michael Cavanugh — also received Tony nominations, and all continue to appear in the show. In addition, Selya and Parkinson won the 2003 TDF/Astaire Awards (as did Tharp), and Selya earned a Theater World Award.
