Channing, Cook, Lansbury, et al. to Celebrate Jule Styne at BC/EFA Benefit

Carol Channing, Barbara Cook, Tyne Daly, Sandy Duncan, Angela Lansbury, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Leslie Uggams, and Patrick Wilson are among the stars set to participate in Let Us Entertain You: The All-Star Jule Styne Celebration. This one-night-only concert will be held on Tuesday, November 8 at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The event will mark the beginning of Styne’s centennial year; the composer was born on December 31, 1905. He wrote the scores to numerous Broadway shows including Funny Girl, Gypsy, and Bells Are Ringing, as well as songs for films and many popular hits. During his career, he earned all four major entertainment awards: an Oscar, a Tony, a Grammy, and an Emmy. Styne died on September 20, 1994.
