If/Then, Starring Idina Menzel, Coming to Broadway Next Spring

The new musical from the creative team behind Next To Normal will play the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

Tom Kitt, Brian Yorkey, and director Michael Greif, the creative team behind the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning Next To Normal, will bring their new musical If/Then to Broadway in spring 2014, producer David Stone announced today. The show, which will have its world premiere at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. beginning November 5, will star Tony Award winner Idina Menzel (Wicked).

If/Then follows a 40-year-old woman named Elizabeth (Menzel) who returns to New York City to give her life a fresh start. The romantic musical paints a picture of modern-day Manhattan and explores how “choice and chance collide.” The production will begin previews at Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre March 4, with an opening set for March 27.

As previously announced, Idina Menzel fans can get presale tickets to the pre-Broadway engagement of If/Then by using the code “IDINA.” The code was originally released on the Idina Menzel Facebook fan page.
